Job Description

Our first Cornerstone baby is due this Summer! We are therefore looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join the team on an initial fixed term contract of up to 12 months duration to cover maternity leave. We are a growing company, with revenue up more than 40% for the 4th year running. If that growth is maintained, there is the potential for this role to become permanent for the right candidate.


Our client base covers a wide variety of sectors from faith based organisations to engineering consultancies. For this role, we are specifically looking for someone with hospitality experience who can account manage the day to day HR needs of our clients. This requires the role holder to be agile, experienced in managing Employee Relations issues whilst ensuring that all contracts and pre-employment checks are completed in a timely manner. There is also the opportunity to get involved in projects and HR activities across the wider team. If you enjoy variety, consultancy is the right choice for you!

About the Candidate




The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential



Significant experience in a HR Advisory capacity Experience of working in the hospitality sector (restaurants, pubs, hotels) Confident in managing Employee Relations issues (Discipline, Grievances, Absence, Performance) Comfortable working in an agile fashion, reacting to urgent requests whilst ensuring that a professional HR service is provided to our clients Knowledge of HR systems (Breathe HR preferred) IT savvy, picks up new systems and ways of working easily Good organisational skills, ensuring that all relevant paperwork (contracts, pre-employment checks etc) are provided in a timely fashion, with support from our HR Administration team. Team player - Willing to contribute to company wide initiatives, projects and processes.

We are offering a competitive salary of 33,500 to 36,000 p.a. 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, 2 volunteering days and generous pension contributions.

About the recruitment process

We will be completing a 2 stage recruitment process - the first screening interview will be on MS Teams, largely looking at your skills and experience with the second on site in our Stockport offices. The second stage interview will be values and scenario based as well as giving you an opportunity to meet the team. We believe interviews are a 2 way process and it is as important for you to assess whether Cornerstone is the right fit for you as it is for us to determine who is the right candidate.


We are looking for someone to join the team in early July to allow a reasonable handover before our team member starts her maternity leave. This means that the interviews will take place towards the end of May/start of June. If there are dates that you are unavailable for interview, please note them on your covering letter.
