What you'll do



As an HR Assistant at Davisons Law, you will play a key role in supporting the HR department through a range of administrative tasks. You will act as a dependable point of contact for employees, providing timely and accurate information on general HR queries. The role requires a high level of discretion when handling sensitive information, as well as a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to your work. Ideally, you will have previous experience in an administrative or HR support role and hold, or be working towards, a CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent. Must have the right to work and based in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:



Support the onboarding for new employees including conducting

pre-employment checks and preparation of contracts.

Compile, maintain and process employee documentation, ensuring the employee database is kept up to date. Manage and update task checklists; ensure key dates are added to calendars communicated to relevant teams.

Update HR systems regularly

(e.g. Payroll holiday & Sickness portals) with employee information and changes. Maintain accurate attendance and leave records - supporting payroll team with timely updates. Track probation and appraisal periods, issuing reminders to managers to ensure timely reviews. Assist in the offboarding process, including completing the leaver checklist, notifying relevant departments, and scheduling/conducting exit interviews. Recognize and acknowledge key employee milestones, such as the successful completion of probation and work anniversaries.

Manage the HR departmental inbox

, providing prompt, professional responses to employee inquiries and concerns. Support the HR Manager in developing and updating HR policies and procedures, and effectively communicating changes to staff. Carry out general administrative duties to support the HR function as required.
