Job Title : HR Assistant



Working Arrangements:



40 hours per week - Monday to Friday Stockport based with remote work and requirement to attend the Stockport office 2 days a week Up to 26,000 per annum dependent on experience and holds an administration qualification or equivalent

Purpose of Role



To support the HR Business Partner and Senior HR Business Partner with administrative support, maintains HR records, assists with recruitment, payroll, and employee queries, and ensures compliance with policies and employment law.

This includes:

Provide administrative support to the HR department in all areas of the employee lifecycle. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases. Support recruitment and onboarding processes, including preparing documentation and coordinating induction activities. Assist with payroll, benefits administration, and HR-related reporting. Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation. Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries, providing timely and professional responses. Contribute to a positive employee experience by delivering efficient and confidential HR services. Support wider HR initiatives and projects to enhance people processes and organisational effectiveness.
You will:

Maintain and update employee records, HR systems, and personnel files. Prepare employment contracts, letters, and HR-related documentation. Support the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and preparing offer letters. Coordinate onboarding and induction programs for new hires. Assist with payroll preparation by providing accurate employee information (e.g., attendance, leaves, changes in employment). Administer employee benefits programs and respond to related queries. Track and record staff absences, leave requests, and attendance. Ensure compliance with company policies, HR procedures, and employment legislation. Prepare HR reports and assist with audits when required. Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR processes, policies, and benefits. Support performance management processes, training, and development activities. Assist in organizing employee engagement and well-being initiatives. Provide administrative support for HR projects and initiatives. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Day-to-day duties:

Answer and respond to employee HR-related queries via email, phone, or in person. Update and maintain employee records in HR databases and personnel files. Process new starter paperwork, contracts, and induction materials. Support recruitment activities by posting job ads, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates. Track employee attendance, leave, and absences; update HR systems accordingly. Assist with payroll by collecting and verifying timesheets, leave forms, and changes in employment details. Prepare routine HR letters (confirmation of employment, probation, reference letters, etc.). Maintain employee benefits records and handle related administrative tasks. Monitor compliance with HR policies and ensure accurate documentation. Provide administrative support to HR projects, meetings, and training sessions. Handle confidential HR information with professionalism and discretion.
You will need to ensure you have suitable home arrangements, which support working from home.
