We are seeking to recruit an HR Assistant on a Fixed-Term 12 month Maternity cover contract.
Reporting to the HR Advisor, the successful applicant will be required to provide high quality, professional and proactive administrative support to the HR function. The role entails handling various HR-related tasks such as responding to written and verbal queries and overseeing the HR inbox. You will also be responsible for managing recruitment, absence and other employee related processes in a prompt, confidential, and professional manner.

About You
Ideally you will be qualified to Level 3 CIPD or have proven HR administration experience in a similar role. Strong numeracy and literacy skills with excellent attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills would be required. You will be proficient in IT skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook), including the ability to plan and coordinate your workload efficiently to meet key deadlines, as well as first-class interpersonal and listening skills.
In addition, you will be a team player who is prepared to support where needed, an excellent communicator with a track record of building relationships, delivery of timely administrative support to the HR team across all HR functions and the proven ability to act on your own initiative.
You will also share the Council's values and commit to our agreed purpose: To provide a professional, proactive, and efficient HR and payroll service. To be ambassadors for, and to make a positive contribution to, the Council by enabling everyone to be equipped with the skills and experience needed to be the best they can be.
