Job Description

We have a great new role at Turner Price for a proactive, organised HR assistant to join our team and play a key role in supporting the employee journey--from onboarding to performance tracking and compliance.

You'll be based in small team of two reporting to the HR Manager, gaining hands-on experience across all areas of HR in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Location:

Hull, Wiltshire Road

Hours:

Wednesday to Friday (negotiable but must include a Friday), 9am to 5.00pm (Office based) 22.5 hours per week

Role Essentials



Prepare tailored induction packs for new recruits, ensuring accurate content and full completion before start dates. Upload and digitalise HR records and paperwork. Maintain and update company HR forms. Support recruitment campaigns, including drafting and placing job adverts and liaising with managers. Track and monitor probation reviews, ensuring timely completion and communication of outcomes; maintain performance dashboards. Maintain accurate case-by-case records for all disciplinary actions, ensuring timely and fair processing. Liaise with the Accounts department to track extraordinary absences, doctor's notes, and management interventions; contribute to monthly performance dashboards. Support compliance with Data Protection Act and GDPR requirements regarding employee data. Take notes during formal HR meetings including disciplinaries and performance reviews as required. Conduct weekly absence audits, verifying reasons for absence and completion of return-to-work forms; hold review meetings with Operations and Transport departments. Perform general administrative tasks such as filing and shredding on a weekly basis. Assist the HR Manager with any additional tasks as required.

Who we're looking for



Minimum 2 years' experience as an HR Assistant, HR Administrator or similar. Flexible approach to work, willing to cover a variety of HR tasks. Experience working independently and managing workload. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Confident communicator with good written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively. Understanding of HR processes, employment law, and GDPR. A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. An understanding of and exposure to HR casework (must be able to discuss and explain this experience at interview).
