The Role
We are seeking a
Temporary HR Assistant
to join our team for a minimum of 3 months. The primary focus of this role will be
drafting, reviewing, and updating HR policies and procedures
to ensure compliance with best practice and legislation.
Working closely with the HR Manager and wider stakeholders across the organisation, you will also provide general HR administrative support and assist with day-to-day HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and update HR policies and procedures in line with employment law and organisational needs.
Work alongside the HR Manager to ensure consistency and clarity across all HR documentation.
Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather input and feedback on policies.
Provide administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee records.
Assist with HR reporting and compliance requirements.
Maintain accurate, confidential HR files and databases.
About You
We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and able to manage priorities effectively. You'll bring excellent communication skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience drafting and reviewing HR policies.
Strong knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation.
Previous experience in an HR support/assistant role.
Excellent IT and administrative skills; confident with Microsoft Office and HR systems.
Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
This is office based only and due to the rural location - applicants must have a driving license and can commute by car.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience working in an education, charity, or not-for-profit environment.
CIPD qualification or working towards one (advantageous but not essential).
