Role Purpose:
To provide proactive, professional HR business partnering to leaders and teams across the organisation, ensuring the effective delivery of people services, processes, and policies during a period of maternity cover.
The HR Business Partner will manage a small, established HR team and support the CEO with strategic and operational HR initiatives. The role will include employee relations, safeguarding, data reporting and analysis, and project work that contributes to organisational effectiveness and employee engagement.

Leadership and Team Management
Lead, coach, and support a small, efficient HR team to deliver a high-quality, people-focused service.
Foster a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing HR function.
Ensure the team provides timely, consistent, and compliant HR advice across the organisation.
Employee Relations
Oversee and advise on a varied ER caseload including performance, attendance, grievance, disciplinary and capability issues.
Ensure all HR activity complies with employment legislation, internal policy, and safeguarding requirements.
Support managers with early intervention and informal resolution approaches to promote positive employee relations.
HR Projects and Data
Support ongoing HR project work, including research, data collection, reporting, and analysis to inform decisions and identify areas for improvement.
Oversee and maintain data integrity within the BrightHR system, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
Provide management information and people insights to the CEO and senior leaders.
Safeguarding and Compliance
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of safeguarding legislation and ensure HR processes align with safeguarding standards.
Act as a key HR contact for safeguarding queries and work with managers to ensure policies are embedded and followed.
People Strategy and Culture
Partner with leaders to align HR priorities with organisational goals and promote a culture of engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion.
Support the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and development.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and systems.
Stakeholder Management
Build strong working relationships with leaders, employees, and external partners.
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, providing sound guidance on HR matters and people risks.
Person Specification
Essential
Proven HR generalist or business partnering experience within a complex or multi-site organisation.
Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
Experience managing employee relations cases and supporting safeguarding processes.
Confident leading and developing a small HR team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build trust.
Data literate with experience using HR systems (ideally BrightHR) and reporting tools.
CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience).
Desirable
Experience working within the charity, public, or not-for-profit sectors.
Knowledge of safeguarding policies and compliance frameworks.
Experience supporting HR projects, particularly those involving data and analysis.
