We're a growing private mental health clinic. Your mission is to provide hands-on HR business support to our employees and managers so teams can do their best work, patients get great care, and the organisation stays compliant as we scale. You'll be the calm, practical partner on day-to-day people matters (with associates/contractors included as part of that picture).
What you will do
1) Employee lifecycle & onboarding
Own smooth onboarding for new starters (offers, contracts, checks, induction plans).
Keep employee records accurate; manage probation checkpoints and reminders.
Support hiring managers with structured interviews and fair selection
.
2) Employee relations & manager support
Advise the Admin Manager and Senior Management on capability, conduct, and grievance--from prep and documentation to clear, fair outcomes.
Provide templates (invite letters, outcome notes) and ensure process alignment with our policies.
3) Wellbeing, inclusion & Occupational Health
Be the point person for wellbeing and neuro-inclusive practice; signpost support and embed practical adjustments.
Commission Occupational Health referrals where appropriate and translate advice into reasonable adjustments and time-bound review plans.
4) HR operations, policy & light-touch audit
Tidy and streamline core HR processes; keep policies current and easy to use.
Run a light HR audit (records, policies, training) and deliver a short, prioritised action plan.
Coordinate essentials with Finance (payroll inputs, changes, starters/leavers).
5) L&D, comms & manager enablement
Produce short guides/playbooks (e.g., "managing probation," "running reviews," "adjustments that work").
Offer bite-size manager briefings to build confidence and consistency.
6) Associates & contractors
Ensure associate onboarding and compliance checks (RTW, registration/insurance, DBS, key acknowledgements) are complete and recorded.
Keep documentation (agreements/SOWs) tidy and aligned with governance standards; know when to loop in external advisors.
Provide pragmatic guidance on working-practices boundaries while maintaining service quality.
7) Compliance & information governance
Help ensure people practices support CQC, H&S, safeguarding, and GDPR/IG requirements.
Maintain an auditable trail for decisions, adjustments and casework.
