HR Business Partner

Location: Main base will be Bretton Gate Peterborough and home

The successful candidate may be required to travel to Huntingdon and Stamford when required

Pay Rates:

\xc2\xa330.00 to \xc2\xa335.50 paye inclusive of holiday pay per hour depending on skill and experience

Working Days and Hours: 37.5 hours per week 9am to 5pm

A HR Business Partner is sought to start as soon as possible joining a busy fast paced team.

You will be an experienced HR Business Partner ideally with significant employee relations experience. You will work closely with a team of HR Business Partners and HR Advisors as well as the wider team across the whole spectrum of people services. Your knowledge of employment law and ability to problem solve and find practical solutions will be an asset to the team.

Working with multiple trade unions against the back drop of national terms and conditions, you will bring a strong experience of managing and navigating complex employee relations issues.

As an HR Business Partner you will be providing HR support to our senior operational management teams at divisional level on the forward planning of workforce and organisational development as well as embedding good people practice and helping to raise managerial capability.

Ideally, you will have NHS experience and be passionate about innovation, change and transformation as well as excellence. With a CIPD qualification you will be a team player as well as being able to inspire others and challenge poor behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Directorate leadership team to develop and deliver robust workforce plans for the Directorate, ensuring alignment and integration of the Corporate Workforce and OD Strategy with business strategy and planning cycle.
  • Partner with and influence the Directorate leadership team to implement effective and consistent workforce strategies, plans and programmes, minimising people risks, monitoring impact against agreed standards and taking remedial action as required.
  • As a key member of the Workforce Directorate management team take responsibility for the development of key strategic plans and interventions for workforce issues that affect the whole Trust, not just the Directorate with which the post holder is partnering.
  • Take responsibility for the development of specific areas of HR policy for the whole Trust working collaboratively with other members of the Workforce and OD Directorate management team and ensuring alignment with national policy and requirements.
  • Manage the identification and delivery of people related impacts in respect of Trust growth or change proposals e.g. insource/outsource, M&A, TUPE etc, drawing on input from specialist teams within the wider Corporate Workforce and OD function.
  • Deliver robust project management of people and change activities across the Directorate including the creation and management of plans, issues, risks, opportunities and action logs.
  • Act as a coach for the Directorate leadership team, providing advice, guidance and appropriate challenge. Act as a role model by demonstrating a collaborative and influencing style, negotiating with others to achieve best outcomes.
  • Proactively influence senior leaders to identify and respond to people issues and opportunities to maximise the effectiveness of their people and facilitate delivery of operational and strategic plans.
  • Working in collaboration with all Corporate Workforce and OD colleagues, co[1]ordinate, develop and deliver robust workforce planning, forecasting and analytics across the Directorate to enable effective utilisation of resources and costs.
  • Lead on all Directorate related employee relations issues including negotiations, case management and appeals.
  • Lead on all Directorate related medical staffing matters, including all employee relations matters relating to Doctors.
  • Act as a key interface and account manager, brokering the relationship between the Directorate and the Corporate Workforce and OD teams, \xe2\x80\x9ccontracting\xe2\x80\x9d with the services of different Workforce and OD teams to deliver expert services to the Directorate to ensure business objectives, and service and performance levels are met.
  • Analyse and reports key workforce metrics and trends across the Directorate and use insight and business knowledge to diagnose issues, identifying and recommending opportunities for business improvement.
  • To supervise and guide the work of those members of the HR Advisor Team designated to the Directorate.
  • Act as a key member of the Workforce and OD Directorate Senior Leadership Team contributing to the formulation, delivery and review of the Trust\xe2\x80\x99s Workforce and OD Strategy and role modelling a collaborative, collective and cooperative approach.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Chartered Member of the CIPD
  • Extensive HR experience of working with senior managers, supporting and resolving complex people issues
  • Experience of working collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver aims and objectives through a coaching and consultancy approach, supporting and developing the leadership and management capabilities of senior staff throughout the organisation
  • Strong knowledge of best practice HR business partnering initiatives, stakeholder management and influencing strategies with a proven ability to turn these innovative ideas into working models.
  • Strong business acumen to support HR strategy development and delivery
  • Strong knowledge of people and HR planning methods and interventions
  • An understanding of coaching methods and approaches to guide senior leaders, particularly within a large change agenda environment
  • Strong knowledge of relationship management, internal service level agreements and implementation of key performance indicators
  • Strong understanding of relevant employment legislation and the impact of future legislative changes
Desirable and Preference
  • Understanding of the workforce agenda in the health sector
