About NYES HR

North Yorkshire Education Services (NYES) HR is one of a number of traded services for Education settings, within and beyond North Yorkshire. As a Service which is 100% funded by education clients opting to buy into our service, we rely on each and every member of our team to have a highly commercial and professional approach.

The world of Education is rapidly changing presenting challenge and opportunity in equal measure.

NYES HR is in a strong position to continue to grow our business within the education sector. We are proud to be an award winning, responsive and solution focussed service providing a high standard of professional HR Advisory support to over 400 educational settings. Our customers include maintained schools, Academies, Multi Academy Trusts and Independent Schools predominantly across the North of England with our income being 100% reliant on our customers choosing to buy into the provision. As such, our practitioners need to have excellent commercial awareness; customer service and strong relationships are key to our success.

The Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced HR practitioner to join us as an HR Business Partner. As an existing or aspiring HRBP, if you think you can help us to continue to make our mark and bring something special to our fantastic team then we would love to hear from you. In return, you can expect to receive ongoing CPD and be part of a friendly, supportive, collaborative and dedicated team.

What you can Bring

Ideally, we are looking for someone who can play a lead role in policy, projects and client communication co-ordination for the team alongside an operational portfolio providing an excellent opportunity to expand your experience and work flexibly. However, the proportionate split is something we would be open to discussion on with the successful applicant.

The role is highly autonomous and we are searching for someone who can further build on our commercial success. Sector knowledge is highly desirable but not essential, however you will have a strong moral purpose and making a difference to the education of children and young people our clients serve is central to your approach.

What you will be doing...

This role is varied, challenging and rewarding; you will act as the strategic HR partner for a portfolio of our largest Multi Academy Trusts to support them to deliver their HR priorities, often seen as an extended member of their senior management teams. Your job is to partner with them to understand their individual context, culture, terms and conditions and policies in order to ensure that they receive a tailored service relative to their organisational needs.

You need to be able to operate at a strategic level advising CEOs, Trustees, Chief Operating Officers and other senior professionals as well as manage a complex employee relations caseload and day to day supervision of HR Advisers.

Your casework will include the most complex operational cases including complex safeguarding allegations, advising appeal panels and at times you will provide an expert commissioned investigatory service.

Why Work for us...

In addition to your salary, we offer a range of great benefits to help you financially and make life a bit easier.

These include:

a local government pension scheme with 18.1% employer contribution

salary sacrifice schemes

employee discount benefits including shopping, supermarkets, gym discounts and more!

travel loans

Health Assured - confidential help and support for your wellbeing
