Summary
You will provide high quality, consistent advice and guidance on all areas of employee relations, supporting managers across care groups and corporate services.
This is a 3 month placement with a possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
Provide timely, practical advice and support to managers on a wide range of employee relations issues including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, and bullying or harassment cases.
Support investigations and hearings, preparing and reviewing documentation.
Work closely with the HR Business Partner and Recruitment Teams to deliver a seamless, customer-focused HR service. Ensuring that agreed practice is established consistently within the wider HR Team and that this is translated into Directorates / Care Groups.
Support sickness absence management, including attending meetings, drafting letters, and advising on Occupational Health providing managers with advice in appeals against sickness management and referring employees for termination of contract.
Provide accurate advice/information to line managers on all human resources policies and best practice ensuring consistency of application throughout the Trust.
Provide support and guidance in relation to the Mutually Agreed Resignation Scheme (MARS) administration process.
Maintain accurate and confidential case management records, ensuring cases are progressed within agreed timescales and KPIs highlighting complex/problem case issues with the HR Manager.
Following the HR Guide to Redeployment, assist in the redeployment of employees liaising with the HR Manager to ensure successful redeployment, undertaking the role of case manager where necessary.
To liaise with Payroll Services and managers regarding matters of pay in relation to ER issues, such as half pay notification, termination salary details and where necessary participating in the overpayment of salary procedure connected to employee relations matters.
Build effective relationships with trade union representatives, promoting constructive partnership working.
Represent HR at meetings, support training sessions for managers, and contribute to the development of new HR team members.
Attend case management discussions, pre-hearing reviews and Tribunal hearings as appropriate. This may include giving witness evidence on behalf of the Trust and supporting senior colleagues by collating information to be sent to the Trust's Solicitors.
Essential Criteria
Minimum of 1 years experience in a similar position
Relevant HR qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
