This exciting role will span the broad range of HR disciplines and will play a key role in helping to deliver our organisation's ambitions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of employment law, be able to communicate effectively, possessing excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. You will contribute to a forward-thinking Council that values collaboration and the wellbeing of its employees, through the development of HR policies and initiatives that are aligned with our Council objectives, values and culture, to allow our employees to achieve their full potential.

Key Tasks include:



Lead and oversee the HR function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Ensure a high-quality human resources service is provided to employees across the full employment life cycle, from recruitment to exiting the organisation. Provide expert employee relations advice to the Council, coaching and building the capability of senior managers to anticipate and pre-empt organisational and people issues, managing them and resolving them, ensuring fair outcomes. Prepare and present policies and reports to Personnel Committee and Full Council where appropriate, using persuasion and negotiation as required. Conduct regular performance reviews, setting objectives, and providing feedback to facilitate staff development and engagement. Delivery of TUPE projects, both into and out of the organisation Lead and coordinate recruitment activities, providing guidance and support to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, ensuring adherence to best practices and equal opportunities legislation. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to create a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. Design, implement, and evaluate learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.
