World Heat is one of the UK's leading manufacturers of hot water cylinders, buffer vessels, calorifiers, and pre-plumbed / pre-wired solutions for the heat pump and low-carbon heating market. Operating across two manufacturing sites in Dukinfield and employing over 100 people, we are a fast-growing, innovation-led business with major expansion and automation projects underway.
Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting a
full-time HR Manager
to take full ownership of all HR activity across both sites.
The Role
This is a hands-on, senior HR role where you will lead all HR operations, employee relations, compliance, and workforce planning for the business.
You will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with departmental managers to ensure World Heat maintains a professional, fair, and legally compliant working environment.
We are looking for someone confident, organised, and proactive, who can balance day-to-day HR support with building robust HR processes as we scale.
Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations & Conduct
Lead and manage all employee relations matters across both sites.
Conduct and oversee investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, performance processes and, where required, terminations.
Provide clear and consistent advice to managers and staff.
Ensure all procedures follow UK employment law and best practice.
Promote a positive, respectful and compliant workplace culture.
Compliance & HR Governance
Own and maintain all HR policies and procedures.
Ensure full compliance with UK employment legislation, GDPR, and ISO requirements (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001).
Manage HR documentation, staff files, training records and audit requirements.
Support management review meetings with relevant HR metrics and updates.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Manage recruitment lifecycle from role scoping to offers and onboarding.
Support managers with workforce planning and future staffing requirements.
Create structured and consistent induction processes for all new starters.
Performance, Training & Development
Implement structured appraisals and performance reviews.
Identify training needs and coordinate training programmes, particularly for automation and new manufacturing technologies.
Support development pathways and succession planning.
General HR Operations
Manage contracts, offer letters, return-to-work processes, holiday administration and attendance monitoring.
Work with payroll to ensure accuracy of all staff changes.
Maintain organised, professional and compliant HR records.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as an HR Manager, or a strong HR Advisor ready to step up.
Solid experience in employee relations, investigations, disciplinaries and terminations.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
CIPD Level 5 minimum (or equivalent experience), Level 7 desirable.
Confident communicator able to handle sensitive and complex issues professionally.
Highly organised, resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Someone proactive who enjoys improving systems, solving problems, and developing a strong company culture.
