AD Vehicle Services Ltd is a rapidly growing automotive business and a Maxus Main Dealer, operating a busy workshop, body shop, parts department, and nationwide mobile fleet of engineers. Due to continued expansion, we are now seeking an experienced, hands-on HR Manager to take ownership of all aspects of Human Resources across the business.
This is a key role for an HR professional who enjoys working in an SME environment and is confident managing HR operations from recruitment through to employee relations and compliance.
The Role
You will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle and will act as the main point of contact for all HR matters, working closely with Directors and Managers to support the continued growth and success of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing end-to-end recruitment and onboarding
Drafting and maintaining job descriptions, contracts, and offer letters
Developing, implementing, and updating HR policies and procedures
Handling disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance management processes
Providing day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and staff
Ensuring compliance with UK employment law and GDPR
Maintaining accurate personnel records and HR systems
Supporting payroll with accurate employee information
Managing training records and identifying development needs
Assisting with appraisals and performance reviews
Supporting company culture, engagement, and retention initiatives
About You
CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent qualification / significant hands-on HR management experience
Proven hands-on HR generalist experience in a standalone or SME environment
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
Experienced in managing disciplinaries, grievances, absence, and performance management
Comfortable working autonomously and making decisions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Experience within automotive, engineering, or operational environments is desirable
Candidates without formal CIPD qualifications must demonstrate substantial practical HR management experience. Support for future CIPD study may be available.
