Massarella Catering Group Ltd is a well-established leading independent retail caterer, operating over 50 cafes and restaurants nationally. We operate several cafe brands based mainly within shopping centres, department stores, including John Lewis, Frasers, Next, as well as operating in independent stores, outlet villages and garden centres.
We now have a great opportunity for an experienced HR Manager looking for a challenging role where you can make a difference. You must have at least 5 years' experience, be CIPD qualified and will be responsible for providing day-to-day generalist personnel advice, support to Managers and Area Managers so you will be required to visit sites when necessary. This is a varied, generalist role, dealing with policy & procedure development, all aspects of HR including recruitment & selection, training, disciplinary matters, personnel administration, statistics, sickness & absence control, along with health & food safety responsibilities. You must have a friendly approachable personality, with strong communication, written and IT skills and you will work closely with the Directors to align HR strategies with company goals.
Responsibilities:
Support and manage informal and formal employee relations issues, including disciplinary cases, grievance procedures, performance concerns, and investigations ensuring all matters are handled sensitively, confidentially, and in line with company policies and employment law.
Ensure HR processes and industry regulations are compliant with employment law.
Manage & Develop HR systems and Policies and best practices.
Management of apprenticeships and training.
Recruitment- prepare and post job advertisements, driving the recruitment process to attract the best talent.
Working closely with the Food Safety & Training Manager, progression of online training and design training programmed to support growth
Skills and Experience:
5 years HR experience and CIPD qualification is essential.
Proven experience in a senior HR role, ideally with exposure to both operational and strategic HR activities.
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
Experience managing end to end employee lifecycle processes
Experience in managing multi-locational workforces and implementing consistent HR practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
Confident in handling sensitive HR issues, including employee relations matters such as grievances, flexible working requests, and maternity arrangements.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and HR systems/portals.
Able to work autonomously and use sound judgment to make decisions or escalate issues where appropriate.
A proactive, approachable team player who contributes to a positive and professional work environment.
