About the role
This is an exciting new role which will play a pivotal position role in shaping how we work as an organisation--supporting a culture that places women at the centre, values collaboration, and champions equity and inclusion in all aspects of our work. The key responsibilities will be HR Leadership and Operations, Recruitment and Onboarding, Learning and Development, Facilities and Health & Safety, and Organisational Culture and Equity.
Working as a key member of the Central Services team, the HR Manager will support line managers and senior leaders to embed consistent, effective people practices across all stages of the employee experience--from recruitment and induction through to development, performance, and retention. The postholder will act as a trusted source of advice, ensuring HR operations are aligned with our mission and organisational priorities.
In addition to HR leadership, the role holds oversight for Together Women's facilities and health & safety coordination. While the day-to-day management of our sites sits with local Centre Managers, this role will ensure a consistent approach to H&S compliance, safe working environments, and value-for-money procurement of services across our locations.

Key Accountabilities
HR Leadership and Operations
Oversee the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and legally compliant HR operations.
Lead on the implementation and review of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with our values and inclusive practice.
Play a key role in shaping and embedding organisational policies and frameworks that promote an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing workplace culture.
Provide advice and support to managers on all people-related matters, including performance, wellbeing, and case management.
Ensure consistent application of employment law and best practice across the organisation.
Develop and manage our digital HR systems to support efficient HR processes and reporting.
Use HR data and reporting to identify trends, inform decision-making, and support organisational planning
Manage relationship with external HR support agencies.
Recruitment and Onboarding
Lead recruitment processes, ensuring they are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with Together Women's values.
Implement strategies to increase the diversity of our workforce
Oversee the onboarding and induction process, ensuring new staff feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success.
Contribute to staff retention by ensuring that our HR practices support engagement and satisfaction.
Learning and Development
Work with senior colleagues to implement a refreshed training and development plan for all staff.
Monitor uptake and effectiveness of training, supporting line managers to identify development opportunities.
Contribute to succession planning and talent development across the organisation.
Manage contracts and performance of training suppliers, and monitor the impact and effectiveness of training programmes
Facilities and Health & Safety
Work with Centre Managers to ensure women's centres are safe, welcoming, and fit for purpose.
Oversee H&S policy compliance and support managers in maintaining risk assessments, reporting processes, and resolution of site issues.
Support procurement of cost-effective suppliers and services to ensure best value across sites.
Provide oversight of leases, utilities, and contracts related to premises, working closely with the Finance team.
Organisational Culture and Equity
Champion Together Women's values and behaviours, contributing to a culture of respect, collaboration and inclusion.
Support the embedding of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy across all people and premises practices.
Actively promote staff wellbeing and positive working relationships throughout the organisation.

Role Requirements / Person Specification
Experience and knowledge
Essential
Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior HR role.
CIPD or other HR/OD qualification.
Experience of leading inclusive recruitment and retention strategies.
Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
Experience of implementing HR systems and performance frameworks.
Proven ability to design and deliver staff training and development programmes.
Confidence in applying health & safety policies and co-ordinating premises oversight.
Experience managing external contractors and suppliers to ensure quality and value.
Understanding of systemic issues faced by women affected by criminal justice.
Desirable
Experience working in women's services, the voluntary sector, or criminal justice.
Experience using digital systems and data to monitor progress and impact.
Experience leading positive change in regard to equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism
