Border Archaeology is a leading Contractor and Consultancy supplying Archaeological and Built Heritage Services across the UK with over 28 years of experience and manned offices in Leominster and Milton Keynes.
As our current HR Director is retiring after 10+ years' service, we are looking for a passionate and experienced
HR Manager
with a strong personality, who will be able to deliver high quality HR with a positive attitude and a smile, as their replacement.
As a key member of our management team, most of whom have long service with the company, you'll shape and implement HR initiatives that drive engagement, develop talent, and ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements.
Hours are envisaged as approximately three days a week, to suit the successful candidate.
You'll will need to be strategic and hands-on, managing day-to-day HR activities supporting the business goals and company culture.
You will be the first point of contact for all HR queries and be based at the Leominster HO.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment
Lead recruitment across the business.
HR Policy & Compliance
Implement HR policies aligned with business goals and legislation.
Ensure company-wide compliance with employment law
Maintain and update HR documentation, including Employee Handbook and contracts.
Oversee the company ISO standards, 9001, 14001 and 45001
Employee Relations & Performance Management
Provide expert advice on employee relations, discipline, and grievance matters.
Support managers with performance management and feedback processes.
HR Operations & Reporting
Oversee HR data reporting and payroll accuracy.
HR Administration
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring all personal information, payroll changes, and benefits data are processed in line with policies and GDPR.
About You
You're an experienced HR professional with a strong generalist background, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for people. You balance strategy with practicality and thrive on building trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.
What You'll Bring
Proven HR management experience,
Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
CIPD qualification (Level 5 minimum, Level 7 desirable).
