Who We're Looking For




We are now seeking an experienced, proactive and commercially minded HR Manager (CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent) to provide comprehensive HR support across our not-for-profit organisation. This is a key position offering the opportunity to lead on HR strategy and operations, ensuring compliance and fostering a positive workplace culture, and supporting our people to thrive. Your Key Responsibilities



HR Advice & Compliance:



Provide expert HR guidance to the Senior Executive Team on employment law, policy updates, and workforce matters. Ensure full compliance with UK employment legislation.

Operational HR Support:



Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees on HR-related issues, offering professional advice and practical solutions.

Policies & Procedures:



Review and update HR policies and the Employee Handbook to ensure they reflect best practice and the values of our organisation.

Recruitment & Onboarding:



Manage the end-to-end recruitment process - from job adverts and selection through to pre-employment checks, DBS clearance, and onboarding new colleagues.

People & Culture:



Champion a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Support initiatives that promote staff engagement, wellbeing, and equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).

HR Projects:



Lead on key HR initiatives such as salary benchmarking, competency frameworks, and continuous improvement of HR processes.

Health & Safety:



Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and support a safe working environment for all staff.

Learning & Development:



Promote professional growth and learning opportunities, supporting line managers in staff development planning.

Payroll & Administration:



Provide accurate HR information to the Head of Finance for payroll processing, ensuring all joiners and leavers are correctly administered.

Team Leadership:



Line manage the Business Support Officer, setting clear objectives, offering guidance, and encouraging professional growth.

Reporting & Metrics:



Maintain accurate HR records and produce regular workforce reports covering absence, wellbeing, and retention.

What You'll Bring



Essential:



Generalist HR experience Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice CIPD Level 5 or equivalent Strong employee-facing, relationship-building skills Self-motivated, organised and commercially astute Comfortable with working in a remote working from home organisation, communicating with colleagues through MS Teams meetings.

Desirable:



Experience with a not-for-profit organisation Organised and able to prioritise your own workload.
