About Us
We are a therapeutic, independently registered fostering agency dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people by recruiting, supporting and retaining foster parents. Our people are central to our mission - and we're looking for an experienced HR Officer to grow our people-focused HR function.
This is a new role, and the post holder will need to be highly motivated to support the fostering agency in embedding a dedicated HR function within the existing team.
Role Overview
As HR Officer, you will provide HR operational support across the employee life cycle - from recruitment and onboarding to policy implementation, employee relations and people administration - ensuring compliance with UK employment law and fostering a positive working culture. Your role will support all staff, including central teams and operational colleagues.
Working in a regulated care sector, you will understand and implement Safe Recruitment practice and how a robust HR function is key to regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Support recruitment campaigns including writing job adverts, screening applications, organising interviews and managing offers.
Coordinate pre-employment checks including right-to-work, references and DBS checks.
Manage HR records, contracts, induction processes and probation tracking.
Advise managers and staff on HR policies, procedures and employee relations issues.
Assist with performance management processes and staff welfare initiatives.
Keep HR policies up to date with legislation and best practice.
About You
Experience in an HR generalist role (2+ years preferred).
Ideally you will have experience working in either the care or health sectors
CIPD qualification or working towards certification (desirable).
Strong interpersonal, organisational and IT skills.
Ability to manage confidential information.
