Job Purpose:
As the HR, Recruitment & Talent Coordinator, you will lead on end-to-end recruitment and onboarding of new team members, maintain effective HR systems and compliance records, and support workforce development by helping to identify, attract, and retain top educational talent. You will play a vital role in building a strong, values-led team culture aligned with our mission to support young people through alternative education.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
? Manage the full recruitment cycle from advertising roles to onboarding successful
candidates.
? Write and post engaging job adverts, using both traditional and creative methods to attract a diverse pool of applicants.
? Lead on candidate screening, shortlisting, scheduling interviews, and issuing offer letters.
? Carry out proactive head-hunting via social media, job boards, and networks to identify
high-potential candidates for specialist and hard-to-fill roles.
? Maintain and update the applicant tracking system.
? Support senior leaders in identifying talent gaps and future recruitment needs.
Onboarding & Staff Experience
? Coordinate all pre-employment checks (DBS, references, right to work, etc.) and issue
induction documentation.
? Deliver or support delivery of new starter inductions and follow-up on probationary reviews.
? Manage welcome communications, access to systems, and centre introductions to ensure a
smooth onboarding experience.
? Assist with scheduling and tracking mandatory and CPD training.
HR Operations & Administration
? Maintain accurate and confidential staff files, records, and compliance logs in line with safer recruitment guidance and GDPR.
? Support performance review cycles and maintain a training/CPD log.
? Support management with employee relations processes (probation tracking, sickness monitoring, absence returns, etc.).
? Monitor leave, absence, and timesheets, and coordinate HR paperwork.
? Prepare HR reports and summaries for leadership as needed.
? Interview Panel Participation: The successful candidate will be required to sit on interview panels as part of staff recruitment and selection processes, contributing to fair and consistent hiring decisions.
Culture & Engagement
? Assist in planning and implementing staff wellbeing and retention initiatives.
? Be a point of contact for HR-related queries and support a culture of fairness, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
? Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in recruitment and workplace
practices.
? Travel Between Sites: The role will require occasional travel between our centres and partner locations. A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable but not essential, as alternative arrangements can be considered.
