We are seeking a
dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Support Assistant
to join our HR department at our Domiciliary Home Care Head Office in Mile End, London.
This is a full-time maternity cover role (12 months), ideal for someone with at least 2-3 years' office experience who is confident in communication, highly organised, and committed to supporting smooth HR operations.
The role is pivotal in maintaining employee records, assisting with recruitment processes, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in communication and relationship management with all Carers.
Respond promptly and professionally to phone calls, emails, and face-to-face enquiries; transfer calls and take accurate messages when necessary.
Provide administrative support to the office team and HR Officer, including filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, and archiving.
Welcome and direct visitors to the appropriate team member or department.
Support the recruitment process, including coordination of interviews and documentation.
Carry out and update DBS checks for staff, ensuring records are updated within required timescales.
Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures at all times.
Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Keep staff records (DBS, recruitment, training, HR-related information) accurate and up to date; report to line managers as required.
Identify and report any shortfalls in service delivery or compliance.
Provide general advice and guidance to staff, enabling them to make informed choices.
Deliver accurate, timely information to staff in a clear and accessible manner.
Participate in ongoing training, development, and performance reviews.
Support senior management with administrative tasks, information requests, and reporting.
Skills & Experience
Good standard of written and spoken English (essential).
Good standard of mathematics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
Data entry experience with attention to detail and accuracy.
Familiarity with recruitment processes.
Previous HR/administrative experience (desirable).
Knowledge of domiciliary home care or care home support (advantageous).
Multilingual skills in
Sylheti, Somali, Urdu, or Farsi
(advantageous).
