HR Support Officer - People Relations | 9211 | Fixed Term Contract until October 2027 | 22.5 hours per week | 26,403 to 28,142 per annum pro rata (Scale E) | County Hall, Norwich
The People Relations Team are the first point of contact for managers throughout Norfolk County Council on all employee relation matters. We respond daily to a considerable range of important enquiries on people topics including contracts of employment, performance management, absence management, recruitment, employee benefits and leaving employment. In summary we provide first line advice, guidance, and support throughout the employee lifecycle.
As an HR Support Officer, you will be tasked with resolving general matters in accordance with policies and procedures by exercising judgement and assessing risk in order to prioritise and assess when to hand over casework to senior colleagues or alternative specialist teams within the organisation.
You will have good administration skills and be able to use your initiative, have strong customer service skills, flexibility in your approach to daily tasks and excellent interpersonal skills to support building relationships with people both inside and outside of Norfolk County Council. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) is essential, as is experience of considering new ways of working, developing new systems and processes, and managing your own workload.
