Job summary



To provide comprehensive oversight and support to the GP Partners, and the Practice Manager.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a part-time role for 20 hours, ideally 07:00 - 11:00 daily.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience



The post-holder ideally should have experience as a compliance officer, regardless of the sector. Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and email skills are essential. The ability to communicate well with people at all levels is important; the post-holder will be expected to use his/her initiative Good time management skills and ability to prioritise workload Ability to ensure all H&S checks are completed at the correct intervals. Willingness to learn new systems and be confident in their use Sound knowledge of estates management terminology is preferable but not necessary Ability to work as part of a team and develop with the needs

Job Responsibilities



HEALTH & SAFETY



To support the Practice Manager by accepting delegated responsibility for Health & Safety issues and to take reasonable steps to keep up to date with current legislation so that compliance with Health & Safety legislation is achieved. To look after the Maintenance log book and get the work completed by Handyman or contractor To schedule all equipment servicing and PAT testing. To schedule all external H&S risk assessments. To update relevant H&S policies. To complete daily compliance checks in all clinical rooms. To check fridge temperatures. To complete monthly compliance checks and report any non-compliance. To take and submit gas, electricity and water meter readings.
To organise outside provider to test water samples for Legionella

To liaise with our external cleaning company. To complete H&S and Fire inductions for all new staff, students, trainees and residents.
Assist the Practice Manager in adhering to Care Quality Commission standards and in preparation for inspections.

FIRE & SAFETY MAINTENANCE



To act as the Responsible Person - Head Fire Warden Ensure the mandatory training of all members of staff is up to date. Ensure Fire wardens are up to date with training. Liaise with outside contractors to avoid adverse effects on the alarm system To liaise with Index Security who oversee Fire and Intruder system. To ensure the Fire Pouch is updated regularly. To keep the fire-log up to date To carry out weekly fire tests and to record the results in the Fire File To carry out weekly walk round of all fire exits To check all Fire extinguishers. To ensure all members of Staff complete an Emergency Evacuation Questionnaire To ensure all Staff returning from long term sick do not need a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 14.50-15.00 per hour
