What You'll Be Doing
Conducting risk assessments and method statements for high-risk activities like hot works, heavy lifting, and confined space entry
Leading safety inductions, toolbox talks, and tailored training sessions
Investigating incidents and near misses, producing root cause analysis reports
Auditing contractors and inspecting shipyard environments for compliance
Monitoring environmental conditions and verifying equipment safety
Promoting a proactive "safety-first" culture across all levels of the workforc
Qualifications
What You Bring
NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction/Marine Safety
Tech IOSH membership (or working towards)
Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, confined space entry, lifting ops, hot works, and environmental risk management
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage a diverse workforce
Experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, oil & gas, or heavy engineering environments
Bonus Points For
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
Auditing experience with ISO 45001 or ISO 14001
Background in fabrication or manufacturing
Additional Information
Split between office and operational environments, with occasional travel and overnight stays. Flexibility is key--some days may extend beyond the regular schedule.
