Our Environment Division:
Our Environment business provides 'source to sea' asset delivery capability across the UK and Scotland, working on both frameworks and standalone projects. Since AMP3, we have delivered more than 2bn of assets for major water clients including Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Anglian Water, Thames Water, Southern Water, Welsh Water and Scottish Water.

Purpose of the Role:
As HS&E Advisor, you will support the Framework HS&E Manager on all health, safety and environmental matters across the region. You will help embed our HS&E strategy and ensure our projects are delivered to the highest safety and environmental standards.
You will play a key role in supporting operational teams, driving behavioural change, and ensuring legal and internal compliance across our projects.
Key Accountabilities:
Promote a strong, inclusive HS&E culture across all operational activities
Support the implementation of HS&E strategy and systems across the framework
Embed Galliford Try's behavioural programme "Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviours"
Provide technical HS&E advice and support to site and project teams
Ensure effective implementation of the HS&E Management System
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including clients, supply chain and regulators
Monitor performance using HS&E KPIs and support continuous improvement
Support incident investigations and ensure effective close out of actions
Report HS&E performance and issues to the Framework HS&E Manager
Undertake site inspections, audits and compliance checks
About You:
You will bring previous experience in a similar HS&E role within construction, infrastructure, utilities or a related industry. You will be confident working in an operational environment and building positive relationships across teams.
You will have:
NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or working towards)
Experience within a regulated or infrastructure environment (water industry desirable)
Good understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence operations positively
A proactive and solutions-focused approach
Competency in Microsoft Office systems
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally
Desirable:
Member of IOSH or IIRSM
Working towards TechIOSH / CMIOSH
NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant discipline
