Overview
If you're an experienced Human Factors professional with a proven track record within high hazard industries, seeking project variety in a wide range of sectors, we can offer you the support of truly collaborative and social teams, and the flexibility to balance all the different commitments in your life.
The AtkinsRealis Human Factors team has established presence across multiple UK locations including London, Bristol, Manchester and Derby. We are looking to expand and grow our Derby office to meet increasing client demand in the region. Our team offers exciting project work in several high hazard industries, including, but not limited to, Nuclear, Rail, Defence, and Infrastructure. As a Consultant in the team, you will contribute directly to these projects, utilising an array of HF methodologies, as well as nurturing and developing existing relationships with both internal AtkinsRealis and external clients.
Derby's strategic location places you at the heart of the UK's engineering and manufacturing hub, with excellent connectivity to key clients in the region and beyond. Our Derby office provides a dynamic work environment with opportunities to collaborate with experts across multiple disciplines.
This role isn't just about project work though. You will be part of the strategic growth and development of our Derby office and the wider team, which includes supporting the professional progression of junior colleagues. As part of our expansion plans for the Derby location, you'll have the opportunity to help shape our regional presence and service offerings. You will also be encouraged to take advantage of mentoring opportunities to ensure personal career progression and that your interests in HF are realised in the work that you do.
While our preference is for the role to be based in Derby, we remain open to candidates elsewhere in the UK.
Your role
As a member of our growing team, you will have responsibility for quality technical delivery, as well as developing and maintaining client relationships with the major operators and engineering companies that are our core business.
Typical assignments will include delivering client Human Factors and Ergonomics work packages, as well as contributing to AtkinsRealis bids and initiatives. As a member of a client focused team, you will work on a wide variety of projects across a range of sectors of industry including Nuclear, and Energy Transition, Defence, and other Transportation and Infrastructure areas.
About you
You'll want to make a positive contribution to the development plans of the Human Factors team. You'll use your entrepreneurial thinking and excellent communication skills to liaise with other groups and departments to provide integrated solutions to the client. You will also enjoy mentoring and developing junior staff, be reliable and consistent, and have an acceptance of responsibility for work carried out.
