We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Coordinator to join our institution. This is a strategic and operational role requiring strong expertise in HR practice, compliance, and decisive decision-making. The successful candidate will lead on all aspects of human resources, employment relations, staff welfare, and organisational development and reporting directly to the College Principal.
Salary
Full-Time: 33,000 - 36,000 per annum
Part-Time: Pro-Rata

Duties/Job Function:
Extensive HR experience within the Higher Education (HE) or Further Education (FE) sector is mandatory.
Experience in a similar HR management role within an HE/FE institution is
highly preferred.
Strong and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and the ability to make firm, informed decisions.
Good working knowledge of payroll processes, OfS and ACAS employment laws compliance, and staff remuneration.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and manage sensitive issues professionally.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the full HR function, including policies, procedures, and compliance.
Provide authoritative advice on employment law, HR best practice, and staff relations.
Manage payroll coordination and ensure accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, induction, and workforce planning processes.
Manage employee relations, disciplinary procedures, grievances, and investigations.
Support staff development, training, and performance management frameworks.
Ensure the institution maintains high standards of safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
Maintain accurate HR records and support audit and reporting requirements.
Be able to implement new HR application database
Person Specification:
Essential:
Demonstrable HR management experience within HE/FE.
Strong understanding of employment legislation, safeguarding, and compliance frameworks.
Decisive decision-maker with sound professional judgement.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
Desirable:
Demonstrable HR management experience within HE/FE.
Ability to implement new HR application database
Qualifications
CIPD Level 6 or above (or equivalent) preferred.
Degree in Human Resource Management
