Human Resources Administrator

who's ready to grow, get involved, and support a fast-paced HR team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who's organised, people-focused, and keen to build a career in HR. You'll play a hands-on role in supporting daily HR operations, from handling key administrative tasks and managing our HR system, to helping onboard new starters and tracking training compliance.

Working closely with the HR Manager, you'll assist in rolling out policies and procedures, sharing internal updates, and maintaining accurate employee records. Whether it's issuing contracts, responding to queries, or coordinating training, your work will help create a smooth and supportive employee experience. This role will be mainly based at our Manchester but will require travel to support our Leeds and York properties and will also require occasional travel to our London, Brighton and Edinburgh properties to meet the business needs.

Key Responsibilities



HR Administration & Systems

Maintain accurate employee records across digital and physical formats, ensuring data integrity and GDPR compliance.

Manage updates within the HRIS, including starters, leavers, absences, and contractual changes, and support with monthly payroll preparation.

Monitor and maintain HR metrics such as sickness, retention, probation periods, and compliance data.

Onboarding & Offboarding

Coordinate all stages of the onboarding process including issuing contracts, right-to-work checks, references, and IT access.

Organise inductions and ensure all new starter and leaver documentation is complete and compliant, including exit interviews and system updates.

Recruitment Support

Assist with the recruitment cycle: posting job adverts, coordinating interviews, managing applicant communications, and collecting pre-employment documentation.

Maintain applicant tracking records and liaise with hiring managers to support timely and efficient hiring processes.

Training Administration

Manage training records and compliance, including enrolling staff in mandatory training and scheduling internal and external sessions.

Maintain accurate records of training completion and generate reports for managers as needed.

Employee Support & Absence Management

Act as the first point of contact for HR queries and day-to-day support across the organisation.

Record and monitor absences, ensuring accurate documentation (e.g., fit notes) and assisting in return-to-work processes.

Compliance, Reporting & Projects

Support the HR team in ensuring all documentation and processes meet employment legislation, safeguarding policies, and GDPR.

Assist with audits, reporting (e.g., headcount, turnover, absence), and contribute to ongoing HR projects including engagement and wellbeing initiatives.

General Administrative Support

Provide administrative assistance to the HR Manager and wider team including diary coordination, internal communications, meeting notes, and maintaining the HR inbox.

Liaise with external partners such as training providers, system vendors, or recruitment agencies as needed.

Competencies / Skills / Knowledge



Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with professional telephone and email manner.

High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data management.

Confident using digital systems and comfortable adapting to new technology and software.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS systems.

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Proactive, flexible and eager to support and learn in a fast-paced team.

Empathetic and people-focused approach with a collaborative and supportive mindset.

Capable of taking initiative and working independently when required.

Requirements



Two years experience in an HR administration or similar office-based support role. - (nice to have)

GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).

CIPD Level 3 or willingness to work towards - (nice to have)

Familiarity with UK employment legislation, right-to-work, GDPR and safeguarding practices.

Must have the right to work in the UK.

Package



Salary: 23,500 - 25,000

Hours: 40 hrs per week, worked over 5 days Monday - Friday. 9am-5pm ( 1 hour paid break)

Holiday entitlement: 28 days including Bank Holidays, additional holiday accrual with length of service.
