We are currently looking for an experienced HR professional to join our team on a part-time basis (20 hours per week) to support our growing business with all aspects of HR administration and people management processes.
The Role
You will be responsible for providing HR support across the organisation, ensuring policies, systems and practices are consistent, compliant, and aligned to employment legislation and best practice. This role will suit someone who is organised, proactive, and confident managing HR tasks independently.
Key Responsibilities
Support the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, probation, training, and offboarding* Maintain accurate employee records, HR files, and HR systems in line with GDPR* Draft and issue employment documentation: contracts, offer letters, variation letters, and reference letters* Support managers with HR queries and guidance on policies and procedures* Assist with absence management, return-to-work processes and wellbeing support* Support disciplinary, grievance and capability processes* Help ensure compliance with safer recruitment, DBS checks, and Right to Work checks* Support HR reporting (turnover, sickness, training compliance, recruitment data)* Coordinate and support performance reviews and supervision processes* Contribute to HR projects such as policy updates, staff engagement, and workforce planning*
Experience & Requirements
Essential:
Previous experience in an HR role (HR admin, HR officer, HR assistant, or similar)* Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice* Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism* Confident IT skills (Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, HR systems)* Excellent communication skills and ability to support managers and staff*
Desirable:
CIPD Level 3 (or working towards)* Experience supporting HR within health & social care / children's residential services* Experience supporting safer recruitment processes, DBS and compliance checks* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities*
