Would you like a career like no other? If so... JoinUs
South Wales Police strives for a workforce model and working environment which we have the right people, doing the right things in the right way.
The Human Resources team makes this happen, by attracting, developing, and retaining the best people.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Intern to work within our very busy HR Team where you will have opportunity to support the delivery of a range of projects and services across various teams within the department.
You can expect to be challenged every day and have the chance to put your academic knowledge to the test, gaining invaluable work experience to contribute to your ongoing career in HR.
Our Internship Programme provides you with the opportunity to gain essential work experience in your chosen field of work.
You'll also benefit from the opportunity to develop many other skills including leadership, critical thinking and team building and participate in some of the established South Wales Police training programmes.
You will also have a network of support and encouragement from line managers, who will guide you through your role and professional studies to help you ease into your new role and provide ongoing support throughout the programme. You can be confident that we are just as enthusiastic about your development as you are.
This role will commence in September 2026 and continue for a fixed term period of 12 months.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates are currently underrepresented within the Force, we would particularly welcome applications from ethnically diverse candidates.
To support the ambition of a diverse workforce, South Wales Place is able to offer a Guaranteed Interview Scheme (GIS). The GIS is available for people living with a disability or identify as ethnically diverse.
If you are an applicant who is living with a disability or from an ethnically diverse background (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) and would like to be considered under the GIS, you must meet the essential minimum criteria for the role as outlined in the advert and role profile. You should take time to evidence that you meet each of the essential criteria in your application form and/or personal statement and CV.
