We are recruiting for an ambitious HR Lead looking for a new challenge in the world of tunnelling construction on the new HARP (Haweswater Aqueduct Resilience Programme) project.

Proficient in the use of IT, good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel & Outlook

HARP is a major scheme to maintain drinking water supplies across Cumbria, Lancashire and Greater Manchester for future generations. The Haweswater Aqueduct is a 110km pipeline which runs from the Lake District, through Lancashire and into Greater Manchester. Originally constructed in the 1950s, the pipeline needs essential upgrade work and will see the replacement of the existing tunnel sections to ensure it can continue to supply customers for generations to come.



Role purposeLead the People Operations (HR function) for STRABAG UK on the HARP project, ensuring the Contractor's workforce, policies, controls, and records comply with the Construction Works Agreement and enable safe, secure, lawful and high?performance delivery of the Works. Own end?to?end HR governance across onboarding, vetting/clearances, ER, TUPE/exit, data protection, confidentiality, business continuity workforce readiness, and audit/assurance.Reporting lineReports to the Contractor's Commercial Director. Functional support from the Division (UK) Head of People Operations.Acts as STRABAG UK's senior People representative to both the HARP Client and auditors regarding all personnel matters tied to contract compliance.Key Experience & Skills



Influence and build relationships with people within the subdivision and wider teams.

Provide fully generalist support to Business Unit leads on a day-to-day basis

Work closely with Management to increase the capability within their teams - consult with the Business Unit leadership to support the delivery of long-term business objectives.

Ensure confidentiality is always maintained (Data Protection and GDPR) - including emails, letters, filing, etc.

Ensure accurate and timely data entry onto HRIS systems - ensuring the ongoing integrity of data.

Provide management information when requested.

Ensure that all requests have been correctly approved and are processed within the agreed timescales e.g. payroll data/ leaver processing / reporting / new starter information etc.

Responsible for the reconciliation of payroll adjustments for both weekly paid and salaried staff.

Assist with the collation of workforce planning solutions during restructures redundancies or capability cases.

Attend relevant seminars and courses to ensure continual personal and professional development i.e. legislation changes, employment law.

Champion EDI across all areas of the business

Drive the continuous improvement agenda with focus on engagement and welfare activities. Maximising productivity, devolving PO responsibilities to line managers and building leadership capability in relation to People Operations.

Ensure full adherence of all Employee Relations cases ensuring they are dealt with in a timely manner in line with people processes - with support of ER Manager

Support with grievances and disciplinaries or investigations and appeals and manage (and attend) employment tribunal claims /cases where necessary.

Ensuring compliance with CIJC / WRA

Work in partnership with the people operations function to enable a knowledgeable and swift response to all ER issues Inc. TUPE, Acquisitions, Redundancy and Restructure Programmes

Support for employees during internal changes. (Knowing policy and process, support management and employee during an internal change)

Collaborating with P&C Partner - assist with the identification of potentials in the subdivision and conducting potential reviews (potential management level 5 and 4, D and C, development plans).
