The

Youth Education Service (TYES)

is proud to be partnering with an Alternative Provision in Wavertree to recruit an inspiring and dedicated

Humanities Teacher

. This short-stay provision supports pupils for up to 12 weeks, offering them a fresh start, tailored learning opportunities, and the pastoral support they need to re-engage with education.

The school provides an enriching and dynamic learning environment, with excellent facilities including a science lab, IT suite, gymnasium, Food Technology and Art & Design rooms, family dining area, and dedicated therapy rooms--allowing staff to deliver a broad and impactful curriculum.

Your Role as a Humanities Teacher



You will:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the Humanities subjects (History, Geography, RE or PSHE depending on strengths) Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with a range of abilities and backgrounds Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning within Humanities Build positive and meaningful relationships with pupils, promoting their self-esteem and independence Contribute to behaviour management, pastoral care, and intervention strategies Work collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders, and external agencies Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback that helps students achieve success

What We're Looking For



You must have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

or equivalent Experience teaching Humanities subjects at KS3 (KS4 desirable) Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach The ability to tailor learning to pupils with diverse and sometimes complex needs Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the wellbeing of all pupils A passion for helping young people re-engage with education
