We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ventilation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation and air movement systems in residential, commercial, or industrial environments. You will ensure systems meet building regulations, safety standards, and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, install, commission, and maintain ventilation systems including ductwork, fans, air handling units (AHUs), and air filtration systems
Carry out site surveys and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Diagnose and repair faults in ventilation systems
Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations and relevant industry standards
Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades on-site
Provide accurate documentation and reports on work carried out
Recommend system improvements or upgrades when necessary
Attend client meetings and provide technical advice as required
Requirements:
Proven experience in ventilation or HVAC engineering (3+ years preferred)
NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating & Ventilation, or equivalent qualification
CSCS card
Full UK driving licence (or applicable in your region)
Strong knowledge of air flow calculations, duct sizing, and system design
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Understanding of relevant health and safety and building regulations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented and quality-focused
Time management and organisational abilities
Proactive and adaptable approach to work
Desirable:
F-Gas certification (if working with AC systems)
Knowledge of BMS (Building Management Systems)
PASMA or IPAF certification
Experience working on commercial or industrial sites
Familiarity with CAD software for ventilation design
