About the role



To support and ductwork fitting on-site, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of HVAC systems at

Sellafield

. The Chargehand acts as the key link between management and site operatives, taking responsibility for work allocation, site readiness, quality control, and progress reporting.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:




Ensure ductwork is installed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and standards. Plan daily tasks and allocate manpower efficiently to meet programme deadlines. Liaise with site management, other trades, and suppliers to coordinate activities. Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with site and company standards. Identify and address installation issues or clashes in collaboration with the Site Supervisor or Project Manager. Monitor stock levels of materials, tools, and consumables; place requisitions as needed. Maintain accurate site records, such as timesheets, material usage, and progress updates. Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing site rules and reporting any incidents or hazards.


Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:




Proven experience as a Ductwork Fitter in commercial or industrial settings. Level 3 qualification in HVAC Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team. Strong understanding of ductwork systems (rectangular, spiral, fire-rated, etc.) Competent in interpreting technical drawings and coordinating installations accordingly. CSCS or equivalent construction safety certification. Solid understanding of health & safety legislation and safe working practices. First Aid at Work certification.
