Job Description

The production operator is a multi-skilled individual, they will be working with heavy machinery on the factory floor with computer-controlled equipment or more mechanically based machines to make sure they are set up properly, working well, and producing high quality product in a safe environment.


Job Duties:

Setup the production equipment and supplies before executing the job orders. Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing. Ensure that equipment is maintained, with the help of the engineering department, in good and safe working condition. Inspect equipment to identify any replacements, malfunctions and repairs. Perform regular equipment maintenance, with the help of the engineering department, to ensure production capacity and quality. Provide assistance to junior operators in their assigned responsibilities. Work under the guidance of Team Leader to perform and complete the assigned duties in timely manner. Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements. Perform visual quality checks on all products made and record machine data on a verification sheet, addressing any anomalies . Carry out Strip and Cleans on all compounding lines Operate fork lift trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer raw material and finished goods around the working area. Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation. Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety. Contribute to waste management programs. Identify and report unsafe operations to Team Leader immediately. Maintain the work area clean, safe and organised. To perform quality testing on manufactured compounds (made in the factory and by the R&D department) To document test results To identify non-conforming material and segregate To communicate testing status and results to the Team Leader, Process Engineers and QA Officer


Product Knowledge and Industry Experience, Effective Communication Skills, Motivational Skills, Results-Oriented, Self-Motivation, Strong Relationship Building, Flexibility and a working knowledge of Excel.
