WHAT TO EXPECT

The Brakes Engineering Department has responsibility for the design and release of Foundation brakes, Modulation & Transmission systems. The department also has responsibility for delivering the Brakes level 1 attribute and SCS performance across all JLR vehicles.

Within this the Hydraulic Transmission team has responsibility for the design, development, sign off and production implementation of Brake Pipes, Brakes Hoses, Pad wear warning and Brake Fluid.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • The Build & Launch Support Engineer will work with the component delivery Lead Engineers to deliver the technical and gateway deliverables on a Jaguar Land Rover brakes programmes.
  • Liasing with UK & CEI off shore team, build teams and supplier base contacts as required.
  • Design build confirmation - Virtual and physical build events
  • Build issue problem clarification and report back
  • Countermeasure definition/communication & deployment
  • To design, build and configure corner rise and fall rigs - for design definition or verification
  • You will work within a multi-functional team, liaise closely with other areas i.e. PD Engineering, CAD Designers, Development, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Service and Supplier teams etc in order to achieve these objectives.
WHAT YOU NEED
  • Knowledge of automotive Chassis systems.
  • This is a highly involved, hands-on role requiring engineering know how, and cross functional & technical project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - able to confidently present issue status reports to Gaydon Design core team, Suppliers and if required Programme/Launch teams
  • Comprehensive ability to work with MS Office applications and manage large numbers of records in different formats. Able to handle and process necessary measurement/test data.
  • Ability to work in fast paced changing environment.
  • Strong time management and planning capability, managing multiple demands
