Hygiene Manager - Pilgrim's Europe

Location: Redruth

Hours: Full-time, site-based

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for food safety and high standards? Pilgrim's Europe is looking for a Hygiene Manager to lead our dedicated Hygiene Team at our Redruth site.


This is a key leadership role where you will ensure the factory meets the highest hygiene and food safety standards, support efficient production, and create a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

As Hygiene Manager, you will:

Lead and manage the site Hygiene team, ensuring all areas and machinery are microbiologically clean and audit-ready. Oversee deep cleans, periodical schedules and daily hygiene operations. Control hygiene labour, budgets, PPE, chemicals and consumables. Work closely with suppliers to review and improve standards. Manage recruitment, training and development within the Hygiene team. Support site food safety systems, HACCP and internal/external audits. Drive continuous improvements in cleaning procedures and hygiene policies. Ensure robust pest control systems are in place and effective. Communicate effectively with operations teams to ensure smooth handovers. Lead by example to promote a strong food safety and health & safety culture.

What we're looking for

We're seeking a strong people manager with the ability to lead from the front and inspire high standards. You'll need:

Proven leadership experience in hygiene or operations, ideally within FMCG or food manufacturing. Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail. Good working knowledge of PC packages, particularly Excel. Experience managing audits, food safety systems and HACCP. Knowledge of COSHH and health & safety requirements. Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. The ability to work flexibly across shifts in a fast-paced environment.
