Job Description

We are looking for a Hygiene Manager for an abattoir and Meat Processing site. The Hygiene Manager is responsible for ensuring that all hygiene and sanitation standards are met across the organization. This role oversees the cleanliness and hygiene processes to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The Hygiene Manager plays a critical role in preventing contamination, improving sanitation protocols, and maintaining a safe, hygienic environment.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Hygiene Standards & Compliance:



Develop, implement, and monitor hygiene policies and procedures to comply with local, national, and international health and safety regulations. Ensure that all areas, including production, storage, packaging, and office spaces, meet hygiene standards and are regularly inspected. Conduct hygiene audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure consistent compliance.

2. Team Management & Training:



Lead and manage the hygiene team, ensuring proper allocation of resources and timely completion of cleaning tasks. Provide ongoing training for staff on hygiene standards, safety protocols, and the correct use of cleaning products and equipment. Develop training programs and materials for new employees, ensuring the team is always up-to-date on hygiene best practices.

3. Cleaning & Sanitation Procedures:



Oversee the execution of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules and ensure the correct procedures are followed in all areas. Review and recommend improvements to cleaning processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure that all sanitation equipment and chemicals are available, functional, and compliant with health and safety standards.

4. Health & Safety Risk Management:



Regularly assess hygiene-related risks and implement corrective actions to mitigate contamination or infection risks. Monitor waste management and disposal practices to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards. Investigate and report any hygiene-related incidents, such as contamination, and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.

5. Documentation & Reporting:



Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cleaning schedules, hygiene audits, training activities, and any corrective actions taken. Prepare and present reports on hygiene performance to senior management, ensuring all compliance standards are met. Ensure the proper documentation of all regulatory requirements and certifications.

6. Continuous Improvement:



Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and new hygiene technologies, recommending updates to existing systems and processes. Work closely with other departments to integrate hygiene standards with operational goals and company objectives. Implement feedback from audits, inspections, and employee suggestions to continuously improve the hygiene program.

Qualifications:



In-depth knowledge of hygiene and sanitation standards, risk management, and health and safety regulations. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to assess complex situations, provide solutions, and take proactive action. Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of hygiene management software.

Skills & Competencies:



Excellent attention to detail. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to manage a diverse team. Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards. Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions:



Full-time position with flexibility to manage day, twilight and night shifts. Ability to work in environments that may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and various production environments.

Pay: From 40,000.00 per year
