We have a position for a Hygiene Shift Manager to join our Hygiene Team. As a Hygiene Shift Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hygiene department, ensuring that our customer's standards are met while upholding health and safety regulations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Effectively manage the hygiene operatives to achieve the highest standards of cleaning while also maintaining health and safety standards.
- Audit & monitor standards of cleaning to meet food safety regulations & customer requirements.
- Interrogate and analyse information relating to performance, budget, and microbiological performance to look for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Drive high cleaning standards throughout the hygiene department to be "Line & audit ready" at all times.
- Support the other Hygiene Shift Managers in delivering the hygiene goals and KPI objectives for the department with recommendations on methods and procedures to enhance performance.
- Build and develop relationships with support functions by promoting a positive attitude towards others in the team and across the business.
- Oversee the supervision of hygiene operatives, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for actions; motivate employees to achieve peak performance.
- Ensure hygiene documentation, cleaning schedules and records are kept up to date and maintained.
- Support the site in the preparation and delivery of third-party audits and visits.
Knowledge, Competence, Experience and Personal Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of hygiene systems, cleaning practices, standards, chemical control, and procedures.
- Knowledge of HACCP and the hygiene standards and practices required by third parties i.e. BRC, customer COP.
- Experience of working and achieving results cross-functionally in a continuous improvement culture.
- Collaborative and prepared to accept and adopt new challenges and changes.
- Effective people management skills with ability to influence, develop and motivate direct reports ensuring maximum performance.
- Strong communication, organization, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment by building relationships within the department and cross functionally.
- Skilled in driving performance levels, line efficiencies and cleaning line utilization beyond budgeted levels by maximizing the potential of the people, plant, and time available.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and pro-active.
- Minimum HACCP Level 3.
- Flexibility in timings to support the business.
- Cover absence occasionally.
Shift pattern:
Thursday - Sunday 7pm 5am.
