Role Purpose
The HBEU Operational Resilience team (~30 FTEs) supports nine markets in meeting local resilience regulations and global frameworks. In addition to flexible market support, the team provides cross-market insights, drives efficiencies, conducts resilience testing, and ensures consistent standards across HBEU.
This role reports to the Scenario Planning Lead for HSBC Bank plc and Europe. It is responsible for conducting ICAAP Scenario Analysis to assess capital adequacy under stress scenarios and supporting broader Operational Resilience testing efforts.

In this role you will:
Design and govern ICAAP Scenario Analysis plans, ensuring timely updates and inclusion of relevant stress scenarios.
Develop and execute stress tests to assess bank's capital resilience, coordinating with finance, risk, and operations teams.
Identify and monitor capital adequacy risks through severe but plausible scenarios and ongoing risk assessments.
Define KPIs, lead post-scenario reviews, and drive continuous improvement of scenario planning processes.
Align ICAAP Scenario Analysis with Operational Resilience Testing to support integrated risk management.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
Demonstrated expertise in ICAAP and capital adequacy assessments, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance.
Skilled in developing and executing ICAAP stress testing scenarios to assess capital resilience.
Understanding of Operational Resilience, IT Risk, and Enterprise Risk Management frameworks.
Strong analytical capability in interpreting complex data to support strategic capital planning.
Effective communicator with keen attention to detail and proven strength in stakeholder engagement and management.
This role is based in Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester, Chester Hybrid.
