We are seeking a skilled ICATS blaster to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces to SA2.1/2 for painting and finishing. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, as well as the ability to operate power and hand tools safely and effectively. The Blaster will play a crucial role in ensuring that all products meet quality standards before they are delivered.
Responsibilities
Prepare surfaces by removing rust, paint, and other contaminants using blasting equipment to SA2.1/2
Carry out quality control checks to ensure correct conditions and blast profiles
To understand and conduct regular maintenance on blasting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment at all times.
De-gritting of work area
Assist in painting processes following blasting, ensuring high-quality finishes both by spraying and brush applying coats depending on requirements.
Qualifications
Must have valid ICATS competency including at least one of the blaster or sprayer modules.
Must have CSCS if not provided with ICATS qualification.
At least 3 years experience blasting to SA2.1/2 and using 2 part epoxy protective coatings
Experience working on series 5000 highways specification is desirable
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
A proactive approach to health and safety regulations in the workplace.
Experience in mobilising, maintaining, problem shooting and de-mobilising blasting plant and equipment.
Works are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm (no weekend works).
