ICT FUNCTIONAL SKILLS TUTORS

Location: Army Foundation College, Harrogate

The Army Foundation College sits on the outskirts of the Victorian Spa town of Harrogate. A purpose-built site for phase 1 recruits (Junior Soldiers) joining the Army.

Surrounded by 360 degrees of beautiful countryside, Pearson TQ staff benefit from the fantastic on-site facilities a 25 metre pool, full fitted CV and weights suite and squash and badminton courts. To relax there is the Learning Resource Centre and if you fancy a bite to eat there are two on-site cafes.

The college is an elite establishment producing excellent results throughout many aspects of its training, including Sport, Education and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Many visitors flood through our gates; from members of the royal family to footballing royalty to the very highest echelons of the Military hierarchy.

Salary: \xc2\xa328,472.91pa starting salary

Contract: Permanent term time only. (Please note AFC terms do not always match with LEA term dates)

Hours of Work: Full-time and part-time positions are available

Start Date: Immediate

PURPOSE: To teach ICDL L2 to 16 and 17 year old Junior Soldiers. The curriculum covers word, power-point, spreadsheets and databases. You will teach and manage up to 8 classes. Provide cover where necessary for colleagues and invigilate examinations when required.

DESCRIPTION : TQ Education & Training is a provider of outsourced training services to the UK Ministry of Defence, other public sector organisations and private companies, both in the UK and overseas.

Qualifications

Essential

Qualified teacher status or a willingness to work towards

L2 ICT qualification or above

Desirable

Functional Skills Level 2 in English/Maths and/or ICT

Experience of working with the Military (or other uniformed services)

Delivering Functional Skills to soldiers

Knowledge or an understanding of current educational developments
