JOB SUMMARY:
The IT Deployment and Support Engineer will provide exceptional customer-focused IT equipment deployment and support services across multiple sites within Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Luton, West Essex, and other HBLICT-supported locations. The role involves setting up, configuring, and providing basic training for hardware and software, ensuring smooth operations for customers. The position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and under pressure. The engineer will be responsible for building, delivering, and installing IT equipment while offering guidance and support to customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and configure new laptops (BIOS settings, Windows updates, SIM cards, etc.).
Build, deliver, install, and dispose of IT hardware as required.
Provide basic training and guidance on hardware and software usage.
Offer advice, guidance, and support on IT-related issues across multiple sites.
Maintain customer-focused communication and deliver excellent customer service.
Manage and maintain IT assets, including ordering equipment and supplies.
Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues efficiently.
Contribute to knowledge bases and provide solutions to enhance customer experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Experience with hardware setup and deployment, including laptops and peripherals.
Proficiency in using systems like ServiceNow, Active Directory, SCCM, and Sophos.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office packages and email systems.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently under pressure.
Education:
IT-related degree or equivalent experience in a similar role.
Certification in relevant IT support or deployment (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications) is desirable.
