On Track Education Barnstaple is an independent special school based across sites in Barnstaple and Bideford, providing full-time education, outreach and intervention for pupils aged 7-19 years. The role
As ICT Teacher, you will play an important role in helping pupils develop digital skills, problem-solving ability and confidence with technology. You'll plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that spark curiosity and build essential knowledge for life beyond the classroom.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering high-quality ICT teaching that develops pupils' technical knowledge, digital literacy and creative skills, ensuring meaningful progress for every learner.
Working collaboratively with the Head Teacher and Leadership Team to plan and deliver a sequenced, coherent curriculum that builds knowledge and skills towards clearly defined outcomes.
Monitoring pupil progress effectively, checking understanding regularly, and implementing timely, targeted interventions to ensure that every pupil is supported and challenged appropriately.
Creating a safe, inclusive and inspiring classroom environment where pupils are motivated to explore, learn and succeed.

About You
We're looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable ICT teacher/Tutor/Lead who can inspire curiosity and confidence in every learner. You'll bring creativity, technical skill and a passion for helping young people achieve their potential in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Ideally, you will:
Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE preferred, though other equivalent qualifications will be considered).
Have experience teaching ICT at secondary level, with a good understanding of coding and digital literacy.
Be skilled in planning and delivering engaging lessons, using a variety of teaching methods to meet individual learning styles and needs.
Have experience working within a SEN setting, with a flexible and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse abilities and challenges.
You will be required to work across school sites and provide outreach support in North Devon, therefore a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
