The Business Systems Development department is responsible for managing, promoting, and maintaining IFS, the core ERP system at Morgan Motor Company. As a renowned manufacturer of hand-crafted vehicles, it is imperative we have a robust and efficient IFS system to support our unique and evolving business.
We are seeking a highly motivated IFS Functional Developer to play a vital role in delivering functional and technical solutions and driving the advancement of our ERP platform. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing IFS solutions while collaborating closely with multiple departments within the business. You will be working with a range of IFS modules and be involved in all stages of development from project inception to completion. You will also be expected to contribute to improvements and propose efficient solutions.
This role will have a balanced approach between functional configuration and technical development within IFS.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Solution Design and Development:
Translate business requirements into effective and efficient IFS functional solutions, considering both the immediate need and the long-term impact on the business.
Design and develop customisations, extensions, and integrations within IFS using PL/SQL where required.
Configure IFS modules to align with business processes, ensuring best practices are followed.
Develop and maintain reports using SQL to deliver actionable insights to the business.
Process Improvement:
Analyze current business practices and processes and identify opportunities for improvement and streamlining using the functionality within IFS.
Propose and implement process improvements to enhance business efficiency and effectiveness.
Work with stakeholders to understand challenges and develop suitable solutions.
Implementation and Testing:
Support the implementation of new IFS releases, service updates, and customisations including regression and user acceptance testing.
Work with the team to manage the deployment of solutions across different environments (Development, Test, Production)
Support and Training:
Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for the IFS system and other connected business applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues, working to get to the root cause.
Generate documentation and deliver training to users to ensure effective use of the IFS system.
Data Management:
Plan and execute data migration activities, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Maintain and modify processes and data as the needs of the business change, working with key business users.
Continuous Development:
Stay up to date with the latest IFS functionality, development techniques, and methodologies
Contribute to the development of the IFS team, through sharing knowledge and developing best practices.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications Essential:
Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience working as a Functional Developer in IFS, preferably in Cloud or Aurena.
Solid understanding of core IFS modules, with a willingness to learn and develop further.
Demonstrable ability to translate business requirements into practical and effective IFS solutions.
Proven experience in a 50/50 split between functional configuration and coding of PL/SQL
Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, with experience in customisations, reporting and data manipulation (Intermediate to Expert level).
Experience in data migration and management using IFS data sources and external sources.
Experience of working within a team structure.
Proven ability to work on projects from inception to completion.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a natural ability to troubleshoot issues.
A proactive and adaptable approach to work, with a flexible mindset.
Meticulous attention to detail and natural efficiency in all tasks undertaken.
Desirable:
Deep expertise in any of the following IFS modules: Finance, Procurement, Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Planning, Project Management, Service, Human Capital Management, Quality Management.
Experience in business process analysis and mapping.
Experience in SQL reporting and data analysis.
