Job Description

PFF Packaging Group are a well-established medium sized manufacturing company with sites based in Keighley and Sedgefield. The company manufacture plastic packaging mainly for the food industry and have extrusion, thermoforming, in-mould labelling and printing machines.

An In-mould labelling Setter role at our Sedgefield site has become available, working a 24/7 shift pattern on a 3 on 3 off basis alternating days and nights. Due to the specific skill requirement, intensive in-house training will be given to successful candidates, as part of a full training programme. Proven experience in injection moulding is an advantage but other setter/technician skills will be considered.

Main Purpose:

Reporting to Shift Manager/IML Process Engineer. The IML Stter is responsible for running and setting Injection Moulding machines with IML Automation. They will run efficiently and within quality guidelines producing product to the correct customer requirements and BRC quality standards.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Working in accordance with the company's BRC Certification, Health & Safety policy and good manufacturing practice. Operate all IML machines including robotics in a safe and timely manner. Ensure the machine packers are trained and utilised correctly, reporting any issues to management. Perform product changeovers, setups and run established tooling to the customers specification and production time targets. Diagnose and correct running faults in a timely manner once trained to do so. Effectively communicate progress and any issues that arise to the Shift Manager/Process Engineer. Responsible for machine handover to the next Shift Technician. Record and segregate all scrap product in ATR bin provided. Complete the required information on the appropriate IT system/paperwork, ensuring completed in full and accurately, including a record of downtime and the reasons. Maintain machine efficiencies and minimise the amount of scrap produced. Identify tooling and process issues and communicate these and any defects to your Shift Manager/Process Engineer. Maintain the IML area including machines to the highest hygiene level possible. Control the process to maximise output but minimise scrap Ensure when changing Labels or carrying out a tool change, the correct procedure is followed. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Follow all procedures laid out in the training document and Handbook given when training commences. Take an active part in any training and development programmes

Pay: 13.10-15.22 per hour

Expected hours: 36 - 48 per week
