To function as a change agent particularly with regard to the introduction of evidence-based practice where appropriate, network and national policy. To be available to all members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide expert advice on all matters pertaining to acute oncology issues and presentations. To lead and support all professionals in co-ordinating the patients journey and ensure high standards of written and verbal advice is available to patients, relatives, carers, the MDT, and external stakeholders. To provide support and leadership for the Acute Oncology CNS teams across all four sites and to be responsible for, assist in and record their development and training.
Translates national and local policies and initiatives that impact on the patients and healthcare workers and implements these into local specialist practice. Develops and implements changes to policies and guidelines in specialist field of practice. Work collaboratively with Cancer Networks in moving the complex acute oncology agenda forward. Initiate and lead the audit agenda in IO/AO.
Lead the development of robust data collection.
