The Helix Centre, a centre of excellence for design in health, is looking to recruit an Impact Officer to support and grow the impact of its diverse portfolio of research and innovation in areas ranging from digitally-enabled prevention and remote monitoring to improving health equity. You will work across the Centre helping the team and Managing Director, whilst working to scale finished projects and seed new ones.
At Helix, we design and evaluate products and services that tackle health challenges by putting people and their needs at the centre of what we do. We operate out of St Mary's Hospital and are part of the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London, co-directed by Prof Lord Darzi and Prof Sir David Nabarro.
With our unique location in a hospital and university, this role offers the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team, leverage and grow your health and care networks, and most importantly do work that makes a lasting difference to people's lives.
Ensure completed projects are followed up and scaled appropriately, including driving adoption by ensuring regular communication of the methods and outcomes in the appropriate forums be that academic publication, industry publications or communities of interest e.g. FutureNHS, contacting other relevant organisations e.g. NHS providers/ integrated care boards / local authorities to make them aware of relevant toolkits, seeking further funding to consolidate existing work.
Develop and implement systems to track the impact of your projects using KPIs and OKRs.
Work closely with the Managing Director (MD) to manage the overall portfolio and support strategic decision-making including leading on grant and proposal writing, securing opportunities that help consolidate or expand the Helix portfolio.
Schedule and plan key meetings, ensuring smooth communication across teams and projects, preparing content for meetings, including presentations, memos, and pre-reads.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely agreements on contracts, such as Collaboration Agreements and Research Proposals.
Contribute to the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new staff by improving Helix processes and supporting job description drafting.
Prepare or support with content including slides, memos, or pre-reads for project and team meetings
Develop processes and tools to complement professional development conversations and team learning
Support with and continuously improve Helix processes for recruitment, selection and onboarding of new staff - including draft of s and Adverts and liaising with key College stakeholders

This role would suit an organised individual with an interest in improving healthcare, excellent communication and relationship building skills, and a creative approach to problem-solving.
Essential requirements:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience demonstrating the skills and abilities necessary for the role
Experience of project management with a good understanding of principles and methodologies
Experience building and maintaining professional stakeholder relationships
Experience of working in teams of different disciplines e.g. with engineers and developers and/or healthcare professionals
Creativity and the ability to look beyond the status quo to solve a problem
Knowledge of latest trends in healthcare and health innovation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
Patience, resilience and a problem-solving 'can do approach', combined with rigour and structured thinking
Excellent inter-personal relationship skills
Excellent time-management and organisational skills
