Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Import Coordinator to join our Imports Team in our Aberdeen offices. The position will require the candidate to coordinate and process all transport modes, dealing with all types of shipping documentation for customs clearance.

They will have to provide logistics?solutions, guidance and commercial support to our client base, including identification of any customs specific regulations or requirements relating to importing goods from the relevant countries, in line with client directives and PFS standard operating procedures.

Import Coordinator is responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

Booking of shipments with overseas agents, carriers, shipping lines and road transport companies. Ensure data fully and accurately entered into all systems in accordance with company best practice. Process all client import requests including EXW collections, import declarations and delivery arrangements. Process customs declarations through ASM Sequoia software in accordance with instructions and HMRC compliance. Maintain a thorough understanding of HM Revenue & Customs regulations. Timely invoicing of jobs in line with KPI. Attend and contribute to weekly team meetings to discuss current workload or any other relevant information. Resolving day to day issues with Clients and Vendors including to include escalation to Import Manager. Full understanding of Pentagon Compliance Programme .
The ideal candidate will have;

Minimum 3 years' experience of international imports and freight forwarding. Displays a positive and outgoing attitude, maintaining a high degree of commitment to improvements and change . Excellent customer service skills. Fully conversant with all HMRC regimes and entry types including, but not limited to - FCG, end use, RGR, IPR, OPR, CFSP, ERTS and NCTS. Comprehensive understanding of ASM Sequoia and CHIEF. Excellent Microsoft skills, in particular Excel. Good oral and communication skills. Good organisational skills and an ability to react to suit operational demands, must be able to organise time effectively and prioritise tasks to cope with fluctuating workloads. High level of accuracy in checking and processing information. Ability to form good relationships, with clients, colleagues and vendors. Able to work on own initiative, and as part of a team.
