We manage a diverse portfolio of properties across London and are looking for a skilled, reliable, and independent Maintenance Operative to partner with us on a contract basis.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced self-employed Maintenance Operative to undertake a variety of scheduled maintenance tasks across our property portfolio. Working under the direction of our Maintenance Manager, you will be provided with a clear schedule of jobs. Your role is to use your own tools and expertise to complete these tasks efficiently and to a high standard. This is an ideal opportunity for a professional tradesperson looking for consistent, long-term work.

Key Responsibilities

Follow a daily/weekly work schedule as set by the Maintenance Manager. Travel to various properties within our portfolio to carry out assigned tasks. Perform a wide range of repairs and maintenance including:

General Plumbing:

Leaks, taps, blocked drains, minor installations.

Basic Electrical:

Replacing fittings, sockets, and switches.

Carpentry:

Hanging doors, repairing frames, fixing units, etc.

Painting & Decorating:

Touch-ups and redecoration tasks.

General Repairs:

Tiling, plaster patching, lock changes, gutter clearing. Liaise professionally with the Maintenance Manager, providing clear updates on job progress. Maintain a high standard of workmanship and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.

Essential Requirements

Must be registered as self-employed in the UK (with a UTR number).

Must have your own reliable car or van suitable for work.

Must possess your own comprehensive set of hand and power tools necessary for the tasks listed above.

Must hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have appropriate business insurance for your vehicle. Must hold your own Public Liability Insurance. Proven experience in a similar multi-trade maintenance role, with a strong portfolio of skills. Ability to follow instructions precisely while working independently. A professional attitude and a commitment to high-quality work.
